Not true of banks, they have to meet that bottom line, keep a handful of stockholders happy, and customers, well---they don't get a vote.

Credit Unions were founded on the principle of a family, that by working together, saving together, making loans to each other, together we could improve ALL our lives. That is why, to this day, Credit Unions are still growing, are safe and sound and stronger than ever.

Corry Jamestown Credit Union was state chartered on Feb 14, 1954. Our original sponsor was Corry Jamestown Manufacturing Corporation located in Corry, Pa, but as of December 2005 we became a community chartered credit union with the territory of the Corry Area School District. Since we are State Chartered, we are regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and we also follow the rules and regulations of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

Our community charter enables anyone who lives, works, worships, perform volunteer services, attend school, business and other legal entities located in the Corry Area School District. This consists of the City of Corry, Boroughs of Spartansburg and Elgin, and townships of Columbus, Concord, Wayne, Spring Creek and Sparta.
